Birthday weekend Part I

This weekend was the first of three weekends celebrating Soren's birthday.  I think everyone visiting would agree that the most fun of our activities was watching Soren run around the playground.  There were 6 adults following him around, 2 cameras and a video camera.  Here is Soren's entourage in action.
Soren loves slides and can even go down a few by himself and is even working on climbing up them.  Considering how quickly he started walking I wouldn't be surprised if one day he starts climbing up a slide and hanging off the monkey bars.  I foresee many stitches and injuries in our future.

Here is Soren's "advertisement" picture grandma Lisa was referring to in the above video.  I would have to agree with her.

Soren loves playing with other kids, here is a little girl he had to go over and say hi to.

We had a small party for Soren Saturday night where he opened his presents from grandma and grandpa and aunt Rachael and uncle Brandon.  It took him awhile to even be interested in unwrapping the paper, but once he noticed there were toys, Soren became very excited.

                                                                          Yay legos!

Grandma Lisa and aunt Rachael made Soren some funfetti cupcakes with delicious homemade chocolate frosting.
Grandma helping Soren blow out candles.
What a smart baby, took out his candle before eating.
Soren didn't "dive right in," rather he started by sticking in a few fingers.

Trying to share his cupcake with aunt Rachael.
Everything you still see on his highchair was devoured causing a crazy 10 minute sugar high of Soren running around with a towel on his head hysterically laughing.
Here are a few pictures of Soren just hanging out with the guys.

Uncle Brandon and Soren.  Same hair, same smile-best friends.
We had so much fun this weekend.  Thank you Christensens and Babirackis for flying out and visiting us.  When Soren woke up from his nap and you guys were gone there was about an hour of melt downs and tantrums because he was left with just mom and dad again.  We are excited for your next visit, hopefully it'll be with uncle Dave and uncle Scott!
