Mom went on a trip to Colorado, leaving the house in four very capable hands. Soren and I took full advantage of the situation dubbing the weekend Mantreat 2012 Mississippi edition. It was to be a super manly retreat, and we had a lot great things planned. Shooting, power tools, meat, fast cars, fast women, etc. You know, the usual. It was a great weekend, but not exactly what we initially schemed together. We made a video documentary of some of the highlights. Enjoy
We began the weekend doing whatever we wanted. We went to the gym, didn't pick up our stuff, ate dinner in front of the TV, and just took it easy. Oh yes, we communicated entirely through grunting, which is not that different from how Soren usually communicates.
We then upped the ante and took our manliness to the next level through a...bubble bath? I don't ask questions-it was Soren's idea. He got a half bottle of bubbles and a spoon and I let him go to town.
Things progressed well and our partying continued. We went to the gym, and the park. We petted a husky and played with our ball at the park. Soren found it was fun to throw said ball down the slides, and even more fun when people were on the slides or at least in the path of the ball. Apparently we were not being manly enough, and Soren decided to take things literally into his own hands. I feel pretty tough, but I have my limits. This guy though is so hardcore he will do just about anything. Watch and look at how he took bath time to the next level.
Saturday ended well and despite some crappy moments the day was a success overall. Church on Sunday-not so much. Soren woke up just jacked with excitement because he knew it was another rocking super tough he-man rock out day. Unfortunately for me this excitement followed us to church. He hit the ground running and never stopped. Between rolling in between various pews, numerous escape attempts, using a marker as a shank against me, and breaking the sound barrier in the hall it was a long first hour. No worries, though, because then comes nursery right? Wrong. Soren went in feeling good but within 15 minutes was escorted out. He had a cut on his cheek, and I left the man his dignity and didn't even ask for his side of what happened. We knew it was time to go, so we got out while the getting was good.
We recovered and made mom a super big dinner because while we are manly men we still like to keep it classy. We were excited for her to come home
We made our food and picked up mom. Soren celebrated with a light show based on some of the ultimate fighting moves we learned this weekend.
All in all it was a really fun weekend. We learned that it is great having guy time, but when it stretches longer than a few hours there is trouble coming our way. Thank goodness for the woman in our lives. And the ones that jumped out of that cake. WHAT HAPPENS AT MANTREAT STAYS AT MANTREAT!
i think you need more weekends like this to practice mantreat skills. Ashley can come back any time!!
