Ain't No Show Like an Airshow!
So it's time for another dad post. This blog reeks of flowers and estrogen and it's time to
man things up. What better way than some super manly times and varying font size for emphasis. What? Manly times? Why yes high octane, testosterone fueled mayhem with 36,000 horsepower.
After sitting in the clinic with Tommy all morning, who due to illness was unfortunately not able to attend the festivities, Soren and I loaded into the truck and pelted north to Millington, Tn. After a 45 min drive we arrived and went to work. Soren started setting things straight right away. This little guy was clearly not qualified to operate this machinery, and Soren was not afraid to say so.
He then attempted to flag off some passengers that were too heavy for the warm conditions
And then Soren got to work, He was ready to take the controls like the old pro he his
After a brief jaunt we decided it was time to relax and take in the show. The show was so good. FedEx showed off one of its newest 767s with some low and fast flybys, the acrobats were great, and skydivers were amazing. Soren's mind was blown by the people falling from the sky.
After a while watching the show we walked around a bit more. That's when we found Shockwave, the jet powered semi truck. Just when you thought trucks couldn't get any better...
Trying to break in
Security was just too tight
We then hopped aboard a DC-3 for the grand tour. It was hot as could be and we were both sweating a mighty manly sweat. Didn't stop the boy from strapping in.
GREMLINS! I wouldn't want to be on this plane after the lugs were loosened by this madman
We did a little shopping after that and bought overpriced toy airplanes. Nothing says an airshow like overpriced toys. Soren thought they were great, though, and took notes from the acts in the air and incorporated them into his own routine.
Flying low
Flying high
Flying like crazy
There was good stuff all day long. We ended with a pass by Shockwave the Jet truck that left Soren speechless-for a few seconds until he remembered he was super tired and wanted to go home and see mom. That's how we party
